Yesterday, I had my last day of high school, ever. It is still weird to say and the fact that I’ll never again don a black-watch kilt and polo has not fully sunken in yet. Looking back, I would NEVER want to go through high school again, but I would not have done anything differently. It’s completely cliche, but without my experiences in high school, I would not be where I am today. These past four years have been whirlwind of emotions, hormones, friends, traveling, and, most of all, film. I am so grateful for my school’s filmmaking program, because without it, I have no idea what I would be doing with my life. Pursuing a career in film and animation is all due to my high school. This program has led me to travel to places like Maine, NYC, Seattle, Vancouver, and LA to screen my films and meet friends from all around the globe. It opened a door to me that I didn’t even know existed. Thank you to my parents, my friends, my teachers, and my school for supporting me all these years and encouraging me to pursue all my goals. There are so many things I’ve yet to learn about filmmaking but I am so thankful for the knowledge that this program and my high school has provided me with. I know I’ll put it to good use in the future.
